I had the M22 very recently installed in my 66 Chevrolet Belair with 396. It works beautifully with smooth precise shifts. It has the characteristic M22 gear whine which is one of the reasons I wanted an M22 for my car. It was a longer wait than anticipated for the transmission to be delivered due to supply chain issues for parts in 2024, about 8 month wait. I followed the very specific break in instructions to the letter, along with sourcing the correct recommended gear oil for the M22.
